أحمد أبو الغيط (12 يونيو 1942 -)، وزير خارجية جمهورية مصر العربية منذ يوليو 2004 حتى مارس 2011، حيث استمر في منصبه لفترة وجيزة بعد اندلاع ثورة 25 يناير بعد تنحي الرئيس محمد حسني مبارك.
عن حياته

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa and Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Wednesday called for Arab support of Lebanese President Michel Suleiman to enable him to resolve the crisis of his government. قنديل أمام الجنايات لسبه أبو الغيط
أحال النائب العام المصري عبد المجيد محمود الاعلامي المصري الشهير حمدي قنديل للمحاكمة أمام محكمة الجنايات بتهمة سب وقذف وزير الخارجية أحمد أبو الغيط.
وكان قنديل كتب في صحيفة الشروق اليومية المصرية المستقلة مقالا في مايو أيار قال فيه إن تصريحا لأبو الغيط يصف اسرائيل بأنها عدو "سقط سهوا من فم الوزير الذي عادة ما تسقط من فمه الكلمات كما تتساقط النفايات من كيس زبالة مخروم."
واعتبر أبو الغيط ما جاء في المقال سبا وقذفا في حقه وتقدم ببلاغ الى نيابة شمال الجيزة التي قررت بعد التحقيق إحالة قنديل الى محكمة جنايات الجيزة في محافظة الجيزة غربي القاهرة.
