Victor "Vic" Toews, PC QC MP (born September 10, 1952) is a Canadian politician. He has represented Provencher in the Canadian House of Commons since 2000, and currently serves in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper as Minister of Public Safety. He previously served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba from 1995 to 1999, and was a senior cabinet minister in the government of Gary Filmon. Toews is a member of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Public Safety Minister Vic Toews is expected to spend the night in an Ottawa hospital for observation as a result of the seasonal flu, a department spokesperson said Monday evening.
"Minister Toews has been battling a seasonal flu for the past number of weeks," spokesman Mike Patton said earlier Monday in an email. "As a precaution, he was taken to the hospital today for observation."
A man was taken from Parliament Hill in an ambulance around 11 a.m. ET, but CBC News has not confirmed whether it was Toews.
Patton asked that Toews's privacy be respected.
